We Are All the Same was written and composed by Lin Si Tong, who also co-arranged the song. It was featured in the Mediacorp drama Life Is Beautiful. The song explores the contradictions many people encounter while growing up: wanting to move forward but remaining attached to the past, longing for freedom while being bound by love, and seeking peace while still craving something more. At life’s crossroads, accumulated expectations can cause us to lose sight of where we originally hoped to go. Ultimately, the song transforms regret, disappointment and emotional wounds into sources of growth, encouraging listeners to rediscover themselves and begin again from the heart.
