ABOUT LIN SI TONG (林思彤)
Lin Si Tong (林思彤) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. She released two albums, Tong's Music (2012) and Perfect Healer (2015), and has consistently released singles over the past decade. Both albums topped the HMV Top Asian Album Charts in Singapore, achieving success comparable to well-known Mandopop artists like G.E.M.
In 2012, Singapore media outlet The Straits Times recognised Lin Si Tong as one of the most outstanding new talents in the local music scene. In 2015, she was honoured by HerWorld Singapore as one of 55 inspiring young women in Singapore, celebrated for her achievements in her field. In 2024, she was featured in the 6th edition of the encyclopedia Successful People in Malaysia & Singapore. As an exclusive songwriter under Warner Chappell, Lin Si Tong’s representative works include Little Story, Black Winged Soul, Perfect Healer, and Sunflower. Notably, Black Winged Soul was nominated for “Best Theme Song” at Singapore’s annual Red Star Awards 2015, while Sunflower was used on the Chinese reality TV show Very Perfect (Fei Chang Wan Mei, Guizhou TV) from 2013 to 2021. The song gained wide popularity and is often featured as emotional background music in variety shows. In addition to her personal music career, Lin Si Tong has long been active behind the scenes in areas including arrangement, production, scoring, mixing, recording, and vocal arrangement, and has also directed music videos herself. She is frequently invited to serve as music director or musical supervisor for TV shows and dramas, sometimes performing or recording in person as needed. Songs she has produced have charted locally and internationally, and some have won or been nominated for international awards. In recent years, she has continued discovering and mentoring local talents, passing on her musical skills and stage experience to cultivate the next generation of singers and songwriters. Artistes she has collaborated with include A-rong 阿冗 (China), Nan Quan Mama 南拳媽媽 (Taiwan), Jeff & Inthira (Malaysia), Jocie Guo 郭美美 (Singapore), Pierre Png 方展發 (Singapore), Tay Ping Hui 鄭斌輝 (Singapore), Phyllis Quek 郭妃麗 (Singapore), Xu Bin 徐彬 (Singapore), Chantelle Ng 黃暄婷 (Singapore), Tay Kewei 鄭可為 (Singapore), Snow Ng 黃雪婷 (Malaysia), among others. Lin Si Tong is proficient in piano, guitar, bass, and violin, and often completes her works entirely on her own, from songwriting to arrangement, production, and mixing, earning her the nickname “the female Li Ronghao.” Recently, she has continued expanding cross-border collaborations. Leveraging her diverse creative and production skills, she actively participates in music and audiovisual projects across the Mandarin-speaking region, striving to bring innovative musical ideas to a broader audience. |
